EFC introduces Best Striker trophy at the 2nd Mohammed bin Rashid International Football Championship
DUBAI – Football superstars and representatives of the four world class teams that were in Dubai for the 2nd Mohammed bin Rashid International Football Championship were accorded Executive Flight Centre’s (EFC) VIP service at Dubai International airport for their arrival and departure.
A Supplier Partner to the organisers of the major sporting event, EFC extended its VIP passenger services to a total of 300 passengers, including high profile team members of the current Bundesliga title holders VfB Stuttgart, the Italian Champions – Inter Milan, Internacional de Porto Alegre – the FIFA Club World Cup champions from Brazil, and the iconic Amsterdam based side AFC Ajax, and their respective delegates.
The Championship kicked off on January 5 and concluded on January 7, 2008.
Commenting on EFC’s support to the event, Mohammed Bin Ahmed Al Tayer, VP, Aviation – Dubai Airports, said, “The airport and its services are usually a visitor’s first experience of a destination city, therefore enhancing customer satisfaction forms the very core of all our operations at Dubai Airports.”
He continued, “When the visitors are football superstars from world famous teams, then only the most exclusive service will do; and that is precisely why EFC was entrusted with the responsibility.”
Al Tayer said the EFC also introduced the crystal trophy for the Best Striker of the Championship as a prestigious addition to an increasingly popular sporting event with a million dollars for the first prize winners.
The matches were hosted by the UAE Champions, the Yellows, Al Wasl Stadium, where apart from the competitive, world class football action, spectators enjoyed spectacular fireworks, fun-filled kids’ zone inside the stadium, and had tried their chances at winning amazing prizes.
